So write down what you have used as the video,audio,positive,and negative so that you make sure it`s gonna work right at the end once your done. So if you do one thing at one end make sure that you do the same or follow the colors to the other end especially if the colors switched. But usually when you take a wire apart to splice that came with the camera does switch colors to different colors. Also if you know what your doing you can buy the one female and 4 male to 8 male ends to make your own.

But should always use the pig tail 4way splitter or whatever they come in. And red would be hot + positive for adapter that plugs into the wall. If it is a bnc connection there would only be 2 wires as the video could still be yellow as + for signal for video channel.but the negative bare wire from that bnc wire still shares the power supply ground-negative and the black would always be a grounded wire twisted into that bc bare wire with into the power supplies ground. All the negatives would share the ground-negative for use one the power adapter. Those will be your main two that you would have to connect to your main ground -negative and red +positive, but the red+ positive would be by itself the only wire used for the hot on the adapter no matter what on an video and audio camera.

Colors will differ usually a rca type the inside of the wire would be yellow and a bare wire for ground to that video channel if it is a rca and audio camera and the audio wire inside after splicing would be ether red or white depending on manufacture and the other bare.but if you wanted to make your own wire always use that bare wire as the ground wire to the power supply from both video and audio rca male plugs. Actually wires differ from other camera model`s when splicing like if a camera has no audio also.
